Fun Dog Snow Adventures

If harsh winters slow your taste for exploration, you need only look through these glorious photos of Aspen frolicking in the snow as a reminder to love life no matter the weather! The energy that shines through with this independent, inquisitive Australian Shepherd will undoubtedly get you out the door and on your next snow adventure!

Aspen’s parents had a vision of capturing their dog in a snowy landscape, with the beautiful colours of the surrounding gum trees and eucalyptus shining through. Their session had been postponed from 2021 due to COVID lockdowns and restrictions, so – finally free to travel and have the pet pawtrait session of their dreams – they booked a long weekend in Dinner Plain to make the most of their time there.

The evening they arrived, the landscape looked a little bare and patchy, but overnight transformed into the magical winter wonderland you see in these photos! Aspen had previously seen snow at Corin Forest near Canberra but found that Dinner Plain had more snow cover and hiking trails to keep them thoroughly making the most of their weekend away. Dinner Plain is the perfect getaway spot if you want to experience snow adventures with your dog.

The photo that Rebecca and Aaron decided to commemorate in a wall art piece reflects Aspen’s refined but adventurous spirit, with the beautiful colours shining through the snow complimenting his golden markings perfectly.

Aspen’s markings are just one of the things that make him so unique. His blue merle colouring and different coloured eyes are stand-out features of the merle Aussie Shepherd. And while not true to all in the breed, Aspen has a unique full-length tail. It was important to Aaron and Rebecca to get a photo or two of this feature, as the wagger and wiggle of his tail show so much emotion and fill them with joy!
