Last week I found some photographs that I had taken as a kid. And these photos would have to have been from one of my very first rolls of film….!!
I loved that I happened across these images and to enjoy them again. Nope, it wasn’t because I was super young when I ‘started’ my photography. It wasn’t because they were taken on a fancy camera and the quality today is still wonderful. And nope, the pictures were not all masterful and outstanding for a someone so young.
What did amaze me though was the content of the pictures. It seems that in becoming a pet photographer I have taken the long way round to fulfilling the passion and ‘talent’ I discovered as a child!
These photographs are of the two tiny kittens we had just welcomed to the family. Until I saw the photos, I had long forgotten about the time when they entered our lives, as the gorgeous little balls of fluff that they were.
I was so excited that Matthew and Smokie were coming home with us. I remembered following them around for several days taking their photos, before mum and dad suggested that I might want to pace myself. I’m now guessing that they probably didn’t want to develop hundreds of bad photos of the cats!!
Having grown up with animals, it’s not really all that surprising that I would have photographed kittens back then.
