Dog Photo Challenge ~ Dirty Dog

Puppy Tales Photo Challenge ~ Dirty Dog

It’s was raining here in Melbourne yesterday.  Not just raining, it was the first big storm and downpour of Autumn.

And wet weather means puddles….. and mud!

If your dogs are anything like ours, they love the puddles, the mud and getting themselves dirty.

So, inspired by the weather and the muddy paws I had to deal with after visiting the dog park yesterday, this week’s photo challenge is ‘Dirty Dog’.

(If you’re not yet familiar with the Dog Photo Challenges, there’s some info at the bottom of the post).

This Week’s Theme: Dirty Dog

Anyone else find photos of dogs and puppies dirty adorable? I love that they show off the mischievous and playful nature of dogs.  And that when they are caught in the act or come back filthy, they can look so #sorrynotsorry about it all.

As much as I love my dogs, I think dirty dogs are even more adorable if they are other people’s dogs 😉 ~ because that means I can enjoy the cheeky photos without the clean up!

This week we want to see your favourite photos of your dog dirty, muddy, messy, grubby and in general need of a good wash!

As always, you’re welcome to apply the theme creatively as well!

Don’t forget to also share the theme with or tag your friends who will love to play along!

Some ‘Dirty Dog’ Inspiration

Want some inspiration? Here’s some adorable dirty/messy dogs to help inspire you to take and share your own adorable dog photos.

Top: Keiko, our Japanese Spitz, as a wee puppy during one of his first baths – obviously it was needed after he ‘helped’ out with the gardening in the backyard.

Middle: Our border collie Summer with her nose covered in dirt having tried to find some buried treasure. Keiko after a role in the muddy wet grass.  Look at that smile – he was so pleased with himself.

Border collies Annie & Billy couldn’t help themselves when the rain came on their photo session – that and there was a muddy dam that they had to check out.

Keiko and Summer again.  Welcoming a puppy whilst doing the backyard garden definitely meant many muddy afternoons.  Summer at the snow – yep, she managed to find mud under the snow!

Bottom: Midge the Maltese Shihtzu cooled off on a walk by…. you guessed it …. laying down in a big muddy puddle she found.

Sharing your ‘Dirty Dog’ Photos

Meeting and hearing all about your dogs and the love you have for them makes our day! There’s lots of ways to share your photos for this weeks challenge:

  • On Facebook – Post your photo under the theme post when it appears on Facebook. .
  • On Instagram – Tag your photos that fit the theme with #pt_dirty so we can find them!
  • In the Comments – Share your photo in the comments below. If you have photos on other photo sharing sites (like 500px or Flickr) then feel free to leave a link to your photo in the comments.

However you share, don’t forget to include your dogs name/s. If there is a great story, or puppy tale, that goes with your photo them we’d also love to hear it! Especially if you’re sending us something creative and we may not immediately ‘get’ how your photo fits the theme!

What are the Dog Photo Challenges?

We know you guys, our Puppy Tales friends, love to share photos of your gorgeous dogs! Our social media is filled with them daily and we receive lots via message and email too. We LOVE to see them! And we want to share our favourites….. each week the best will be shared on our Puppy Tales Facebook Timeline Cover! It needs to be updated frequently and we couldn’t think of anything better than sharing your cute Dog or Puppy Tales!

So we developed the simple idea of a weekly challenge allowing you to share your best dog photos! And the best bit is that it gives you an extra reason to hang out with your dogs over the weekend and to be taking more photos of them. If you already have photos that match the theme, then you’re welcome to share those too. There will be many themes throughout the year, so the opportunity to share your dog photos often will be sure to come up frequently! Don’t forget to come back to check for the new themes each week!

On Mondays we will post a photo challenge theme for the week. You can upload throughout the week, tag your photos on instagram and the following Tuesday we will pick our favourites to update the Puppy Tales Facebook page with! We will also share some of the photos on Puppy Tales instagram!
